CUBA LIBRE RESTAURANT & RUM BAR
Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar launched in Philadelphia in 2000, followed by Atlantic City, NJ, in 2004, Orlando in 2008, and Washington, D.C. in 2010, giving guests a passport to Cuba's intriguing flavors and culture. The restaurant’s name, which translates to “a free Cuba,” signifies hope for the future of the treasured island nation. Cuba Libre’s mission is to provide an “escape” to Havana through exciting food, beverage and entertainment experiences that celebrate the Cuban people and culture. Two-time James Beard award-winner and Founding Chef Guillermo Pernot retired in late 2023, after many years preparing his successors, Culinary Directors, Kevin Couch and Angel Roque. Their menus feature tantalizing tastes that reflect Cuba’s culinary traditions, as well as emerging modern Cuban cuisine.
GuestCounts Hospitality Principals and Co-Founders, Barry Gutin and Larry Cohen bring a unique combination of hospitality experience to each of their projects and have been partners since 1995. The two focus their time, talents and resources on the growth of Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar and their 2025 acquisitions, Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar and Bomba ¡Tacos + Tequila!
